BOX for SWIFTNet - Overview
A key element of the IBM SWIFT solution within
the IBM payments infrastructure
IBM Middleware
The new IBM Payments Platform infrastructure
is designed to run on the latest IBM Middleware
and is architected for the highest levels
of robustness and scalability. One part
of the payments platform is WBI-FN, a highly
automated connector for all types of SWIFTNet
communications (FIN, FileAct, InterAct).
In line with the current IBM Software Group
strategy all application-like functionality,
which is essential for implementing a complete
SWIFT solution, has to be added from partners.
INTERCOPE BOX for SWIFTNet
Incorporates a set of optional components
to complement WBI-FN and facilitate the
implementation of a complete SWIFT system.
These optional components are described
briefly in this document and in more detail
in separate flyers for each component.
IC-RMA Component - RMA for SWIFTNet Phase 2
RMA - Relationship Management Application -
is a mandatory application required to implement
the security upgrade from BKE to PKI as part
of SWIFTNet Phase II. RMA manages bilateral
agreements and is a fully encapsulated application
with its basic functionality being specified
by SWIFT. To address the needs of large financial
institutions, IC-RMA offers important additional
functionality on top of the SWIFT standard.
IC-E&R Component - Message Entry & Repair
This component includes all functionality
for message creation and repair. It includes:
· Easy-to-use entry panels for FIN and MX
· 100% message validation (including cross-field
checking)
· A powerful User Profile Management to ensure
segregation and task
allocation
· Standard queues with proper control and
supervision
IC-ADD Component - Add-on Functionality
for WBI-FN
A comprehensive set of functions and features
which complement WBI-FN to enable an institution
to properly handle and supervise the entire
SWIFT traffic. Examples are:
· Message retrieval and visualization, routing,
WBI-FN configuration
· End-of-day processing, automatic printing
IC-API Component - MERVA API Emulator
Allows applications currently using the
MERVA API to remain unchanged and still
send/receive SWIFT messages - even if MERVA
is no longer used. This facilitates an
easy step-by-step migration away from MERVA.
IC-COM
Component - Non-SWIFT Communications
In addition to the standard functionality
for sending SWIFT messages as e.g. fax
or telex, the conversion from Non-SWIFT
to SWIFT formats is supported via functions
such as OCR and dedicated repair. These
allow an institution to implement a unique
financial messaging system covering all
required communication types.
Future Components
INTERCOPE intends to provide additional
new components, which add further functionality
to BOX for SWIFTNet and the IBM Payments
Platform.
